Elisabeth Nosal, nee Keil, was born in the town of Teaneck, NJ and has been a resident of Ringwood all her life. She attended the Ringwood schools including St. Catherine of Bologna. She began her piano studies at the age of 3 & 1/2. Mrs. Nosal attended the Juilliard pre college division and later received her BM at Manhattan School of Music. She took part at several international music seminars in the cities of Weimar, Salzburg and Fontainbleau. Mrs.Nosal has been teaching piano for 20 years in the town of Ringwood and in 2003, founded the Ringwood School of Music. Students are accepted year round for registration in classes. Elisabeth also enjoys performing classical music as soloist and duo- pianist in the NJ/NY area.
Michael Nosal, was born in Queens, New York City and began playing the piano at the age of 5. While attending the High School of Music and Art he performed Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue with orchestra. He received his Bachelor and Master degrees from Manhattan School of Music and the Juilliard School, studying with Constance Keene, Martin Canin, and Joseph Kalichstein; master classes in Europe with Vitaly Margulis and Justus Frantz. Mr. Nosal gave annual faculty recitals at the Third Street Music School in NYC, where he taught piano for ten years in addition to having performed chamber music at festivals in Maine, Ohio, and New York. He is a recipient of the Margaret Baiz Memorial award from the National Arts Club. Currently, Mr. Nosal teaches privately in NYC as well as at the Ringwood School of Music in New Jersey.
Fabiola Leon-Catalano, Bio
Fabiola Leon-Catalano grew up in North Bergen, NJ, in Hudson County, starting lessons at the age of 7. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Manhattan School of Music with continued studies at the Juilliard School under Jacob Lateiner. More recently she performed as Music Director on Broadway for the show “Three Mo Tenors” and toured throughout the US and Canada when the show went on tour. Formerly, she was adjunct faculty at Montclair State University and has been teaching in Ringwood since 1991.She is not new to St. Catherines of Bologna, having served as Music Director for most of the musicals presented by the St. Catherines Performing Arts Guild, including “Into the Woods” last year. As a teacher, she uses a multi-sensory approach to learning which incorporates into the piano lesson: ear training, theory, movement, and improvisation. Her students learn while also having fun in the process!
Patricia Klar earned a BA in music from the School of Music at the University of Southern Maine. She has participated in a number of both solo and ensemble recitals throughout the state of Maine. Patricia has taught piano lessons to people of all ages for over 20 years in Maine, New York and New Jersey. She strives to be flexible in her approach to fit individual needs and to nurture an appreciation for music in all her students.
Patricia also has a minor in Russian language and extensive training in Russian Liturgical Music. She recently conducted an a cappella Russian liturgical choir in Paterson, New Jersey.
